Oundle CE Primary School Pre-School

Oundle CE Primary is delighted to announce the opening of our Pre-School. Located in the main school building, it will naturally form part of our Early Years Foundation Stage Unit and will share the school’s commitment to high quality education and child development. We anticipate joint ventures such as story times, tea parties and gardening plus the pre-school children will have access to our fantastic facilities including; Forest School, Messy Outdoor Kitchen area, the School Field and Hall.

The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum lies at the heart of all that we do and where firm foundations are laid upon which to build. We believe play, both inside and outside, is an essential part of every child's learning. It helps build their confidence, allows them to explore, solve problems and encourages them to learn to build relationships with others. We encourage children to develop their own interests, skills and attitudes and believe this is further enabled by working closely with parents to build positive working relationships.

Our Pre-School aims to provide a happy, caring, stimulating and safe environment in which every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Through government funding, children aged three and four are entitled to 15 hours care per week, however, working parents may be eligible for up to 30 hours free childcare (for 38 weeks of the year).

The pre-school accepts funded children who will be starting school in September 2026. (4 year olds and 3 year olds who turn 4 between September 2025 and the end of August 2026.)
